PRODUCTION NOTES

Surprise! was filmed over three days and the second day was as a day for night.

Due to the nature of the scene, the shot of Amelia and Isaac, portrayed by Alexandra Bedoya and Matthaeus Garrido, respectively, setting up the party was done in one take.

Surprise! only used one location and was filmed in an Airbnb.

The balloon that popped towards the film's end required seven (7) different yellow balloons. Each balloon was popped using a push pin that was out of frame. The Art Director, Tia Mummau, stood out of frame to position and popped the balloon.

Tia Mummau also sat behind the dining table to pull the gift bag off the table so it could fall.

Cole Donaldson, who plays Connor Watson, used his elbow to knock the cup over that took multiple resets to make the cup look like it was wobbling successfully. The cup was anchored to the counter using rolled duct tape to the bottom of the cup.

Cole Donaldson and Matthaeus Garrido choreographed the small fight known as “The Chip Confrontation.”

One of the crew members drew on a balloon with a sharpie and created Balloony, a cartoon balloon from the hit Disney show Phineas and Ferb.
